The following items are acceptable for disposal:
Non-liquid municipal solid waste, such as garbage, trash, and other waste from households, commercial, or industrial facilities. Unwashed and sealed drums are not allowed. Construction debris resulting from demolition and construction activities. Yard clippings, including grass, leaves, and trees.Household pets. Pesticide containers that have been punctured and rinsed at least three times. Non-infectious medical waste from households, including medical sharps placed in a hard plastic container and dark plastic bag, and autoclaved sickroom waste with supporting documentation. Hypodermic needles and other sharp objects from hospitals, clinics, laboratories, dentists, etc. are not accepted. Household hazardous waste (HHW), such as paint and stains, antifreeze, motor oil, filters, and other automotive fluids, pool chemicals, household chemicals, and pesticides. All liquids must be contained in the original container and/or marked to identify its contents.Flammable liquids from residential customers only. Commercial customers are not allowed to dispose of flammable liquids. Travel trailers, boats, and motorcycles with a clear title free of liens and matching driver’s license. All fluids must be removed, and all propane tanks must be empty.Empty propane tanks.
There are certain types of waste that are not acceptable for disposal in this facility. These include automobiles, including trucks, bodies, and frames, as well as batteries and tires (although Glendale, Avondale, and Peoria residents may dispose of up to 5 tires without rims per load). Asbestos, both friable and non-friable, septage, and petroleum contaminated soil are also not accepted. Additionally, industrial and commercial process wastes in both liquid and solid form, as well as hazardous waste from commercial haulers, are prohibited. Incinerator ash and infectious medical waste, such as waste blood, serum, plasma, blood products, contaminated hypodermic needles, syringes, scalpel blades, or sharps from hospitals, clinics, laboratories, dentists, and similar sources, are also not accepted for disposal.
